Green Deal Centers (GDC)

Welcome to the Green Deal Center Main Hub at “Tashkent Institute of
Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” National Research
University
The Green Deal
Center for Evidence-based Education, Research, Innovation, and Public Outreach
(GDC) is a transnational network driving sustainability, Green Deal
priorities, and regenerative futures across Eurasia. With physical and digital
hubs at 10 universities in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan,
and Uzbekistan—as well as a central EU Hub at Constructor University in
Germany—the GDC fosters collaborative solutions to environmental and societal
challenges through education, applied research, practical sustainability
training, active student engagement, and cross-sector partnerships.
As a gateway for a
just and green transition, each GDC Hub actively connects local partners such
as green businesses, NGOs, governmental agencies, and universities—with each
other and with international networks. Established by the EU Erasmus+ Green Deal for Central Asian
Universities grant in 2025, the GDC and its hubs
strengthen ties and commitments between central Asian countries and the
European Union by advancing shared approaches to sustainability, climate
resilience, and Green Deal priorities. Bridging academic knowledge with
real-world impact, the GDC supports:
- Curriculum and university policy
transformation in line with the European Green
Deal and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
- Practice-oriented research on climate, biodiversity, circular economy, and social resilience,
- Innovation ecosystems that connect students, researchers, policymakers, businesses, and
civil society,
- Public engagement through open events, media outreach, and citizen science
initiatives.
Each GDC Hub responds to its local
context while remaining part of a shared Eurasian platform for green transition
and ecological stewardship.
This GDC Hub at “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural
Mechanization Engineers” National Research University focuses on Land
Management, Water Ecology, Environmental Protection, Hydro melioration, Soil
Conservation, Eco-Hydrology, Biodiversity, Climate Adaptation, &
Sustainable Agriculture. Learn more about our programs, partners, and local
