Volunteer Participation in Environmental Campaigns

TIIAME National Research University not only cooperates with the Ecological Party on policymaking but also actively supports its environmental campaigns through student volunteering. On 8 November 2024, university volunteers took part in an ecological action organized by the Ecological Party, contributing to tree-planting and greening activities aimed at improving the urban environment and raising public awareness of climate issues.

Two representatives of TIIAME National Research University currently serve as deputies within the Ecological Party structure, playing an active role in government decision-making on climate change and environmental sustainability. The Rector of the university, Bakhodir Mirzayev, serves as the Chairman of the People’s Deputies Council of the Mirzo Ulugbek District and is a member of the Ecological Party. As part of his deputy responsibilities, he focuses on: establishing a system for regular public reporting on air quality and climate change issues, implementing priority actions for climate adaptation, and leading initiatives aimed at reducing climate impacts in Tashkent city. His efforts reflect strong commitment to tackling environmental challenges and promoting sustainable urban development.

Another university representative, Jakhongirmirzo Mirzoqobulov, an assistant at the Department of Ecology and Water Resources Management, serves as the Chairman of the People’s Deputies Council of Bektemir District on a voluntary basis and is also a member of the Ecological Party. His work highlights the importance of public environmental awareness by ensuring regular access to reliable information on air quality and climate change, promoting climate adaptation strategies, and supporting the creation of a sustainable ecological zone along the Chirchik River to maintain ecological balance in the district. His activities demonstrate the involvement of young experts in environmental policymaking and their commitment to advancing sustainable practices.
