Scientific library
The library of the National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" was established in 1934 simultaneously with the establishment of the institute on the basis of the book funds of the Central Asian Institute of Cotton Irrigation and the Central Asian Institute of Agricultural Mechanization and technical schools. In 1970, in accordance with the decision of the scientific council, the library was given the status of "Scientific Library of the National Institute of Scientific Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences", and this, in turn, became the basis for the establishment of the Information Resource Center (ARM) on February 7, 2007.
Today, the Information Resource Center has the following main departments:
1. Service department with information-library resources, including Professors-Teachers Study Hall, Student Study Hall, Study Library, 3 and 4 - Study Hall branches in the Student Residence, Fund Storage Department.
2. Scientific-methodical and informative (periodical publications department).
3. Information-library resource integration, cataloging and systematization department, Cataloging sector.
4. Department of electronic information resources.
5. Department of working with foreign information - library resources.
The fund of the Information Resource Center consists of 644,669 publications in 87,417 titles, including 290,515 copies of educational literature in 46,361 titles, 15,997 copies of fiction literature in 5,950 titles, and 338,157 copies of scientific and other literature in 35,106 titles.
In the Information Resource Center of our university, great attention is paid to the formation of electronic information resources and their effective use in the environment of the INTERNET network system. For this purpose, more than 4538 titles of educational literature with full text have been placed in the electronic program of the Information Resource Center at library.tiiame.uz, 4948 user students have been registered, and 4658 electronic resources have been provided through the website. The "Electronic Library" of the Information Resource Center is posted on the Telegram channel of the University website https://t.me/TIQXMMIkutubkhona. This "Electronic Library" contains 2389 copies of educational, methodological, scientific and fiction literature, and the number of users is 1389.
Currently, in order to improve the activities of the University Information-Resource Center, it is organized in accordance with the principles of librarianship, including filling, processing, systematization, objectification, storage and a number of other processes and technologies, including a catalog and information-search apparatus in electronic form. The creation of a digital library, a collection of electronic resources, is underway.
