Despite
improvements in English proficiency among Uzbekistan’s youth, specialized
professionals struggle to engage in international conferences, access research,
and contribute to global discussions. A survey of the Department of Ecology and
Water Resource Management educators revealed significant challenges in
effective communication, grammar, reading comprehension, and written English,
highlighting a gap between educational and professional English skills. The
project aims to improve English speaking, reading, and writing proficiencies of
technical experts, increase access to English-language curricula and resources
focusing on technical vocabulary, and facilitate networking and collaboration
between Uzbek professionals and international peers.
