The Department of Youth Work, Spirituality and Enlightenment was established in 1997. In accordance with its tasks, the department organises spiritual and educational events held at the University, aimed at educating students in the spirit of boundless devotion to the ideas of national independence, love for the Motherland, faith in the Great and noble goal of building a free and prosperous country, courage and selflessness. It also organises and coordinates various scientific, creative and artistic circles, clubs and meetings with the aim of unlocking the knowledge and potential of gifted students. Simultaneously supervises the organisation of spiritual-educational work in student dormitories and the spiritual-educational life of the University's information and resource centre.

Simultaneously oversees the organisation of spiritual and educational work in student residences and the spiritual and educational life of the University's information and resource centre. The department closely cooperates with public organisations of the University: the University Trade Union Committee, the primary organisation of the Youth Union, the Women's Consultative Council, the University Palace of Culture and the departments of "Humanities", "Professional Education" and "Physical Education and Sport".

Department structure

Head of the department, 4 methodologists, university psychologist, tutors of academic groups of the university, tutors-teachers of student dormitories, employees of the Palace of Culture, events "Five important initiatives", sports complex, creative circles.

The main purpose of the department

To educate students in the spirit of commitment to national and universal values, to expand their spiritual, aesthetic and moral horizons, to protect their thinking from the influence of various alien ideas and to educate in them a truly selfless and patriotic personality in the name of independent Uzbekistan.

The main tasks of the department:

•  formation of students as true citizens of the independent Republic of Uzbekistan on the basis of national and universal values;

•  Preparation for diligent fulfillment of civil and children's duties to the Motherland;

•  improving the professional skills of students, increasing responsibility;

•  formation and improvement of personal, specific individual qualities of the student;

•  widely encourage students to have a sense of social activity, initiative, respect for their studies and profession, as well as social responsibility;

•  develop students' socio-political and legal consciousness, expand their critical and analytical thinking skills;

•  negative vices for students: foreshadowing negative consequences of injustice, arbitrariness, parochialism;

•  meaningful organization of leisure time for students, organization of scientific and creative activities based on their interests;

•  improvement of targeted spiritual, moral and educational work;

•  wide propaganda among the student youth of the reforms carried out in the country in the conditions of the new Uzbekistan;

•  establishing work on the formation of moral, aesthetic, political, legal, artistic education of students-youth;

•  organization of congresses, round tables and meetings dedicated to the promotion of national traditions and values;

•  assistance in improving the work to improve the spiritual and physical development of students;

•  defining the priority directions of spiritual-educational and educational work at the university, developing the necessary normative documents on this issue and ensuring its implementation;

•  defining ideological immunity among student youth in the fight against religious extremism, terrorism, drug addiction and organised crime;

•  Fostering young people's interest in music, painting, literature, theatre and other forms of art and helping them to discover their talents.

•  Strengthening the physical fitness of young people and creating the necessary conditions for them to demonstrate their aptitude for sport;

•  Enhancing the spirituality of young people and improving the culture of reading among them;

•  Systematic organisation of work to help female students learn a profession;

•  Active participation in the improvement of spiritual and educational work together with city and district departments of the Republican Centre for Spirituality and Enlightenment, as well as foundations and public organisations operating in our country.
