On March 25, 2023, a meeting was organized at National Research University “TIIAME” on the topic “An Eco-Friendly Environment Guaranteed by the New Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.” The event was attended by professors, teachers, students, and youth, as well as representatives and activists from the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan. The meeting was chaired by the university's rector, Professor Bakhodir Mirzaev.


During the meeting, information was presented regarding the content of the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan, titled "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan," as well as the significance of the upcoming referendum scheduled for April 30, 2023. Chairman of the Executive Committee Abdushukur Khamzaev provided a brief overview of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, noting that a separate chapter on environmental protection has been included in the draft New Constitution as a critical measure for enhancing the quality of life and health of the population.


At the meeting, information was provided regarding the content of the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and the significance of the referendum scheduled for April 30, 2023. Chairman of the Executive Committee Abdushukur Khamzaev presented an overview of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, noting that a separate chapter on environmental protection has been included in the draft New Constitution as a necessary measure for improving the quality of life and health of the population. 

It is important to highlight that over the past three years, 15,000 appeals from residents have expressed dissatisfaction with construction activities. Additionally, more than 200 construction projects have been halted by courts in Tashkent. The number of vehicles has increased from 1.3 million to 3.6 million, which has been a significant contributor to air pollution.


The updated Constitution aims to establish a robust parliament, a responsible government, and an equitable judiciary to foster a supportive state for citizens. Students received comprehensive answers to their inquiries. Attendees were particularly impressed by the speech delivered by A. Khamzaev, which was both supportive and rich in factual content.

On February 16, 2023, a scientific and technical conference was conducted at "TIIAME" National Research University, focusing on challenges within the energy system and potential solutions. Representatives from foreign manufacturers of solar panels and inverters, including Nura Solar, Huawei, and Trina Solar attended the event. Additionally, participants included heads of small businesses, entrepreneurs, farmers, representatives of private enterprises, and other stakeholders, along with engineers and scientists offering services in this field. Attendees were provided with answers to their inquiries regarding the utilization of solar energy.


Master's and doctoral students in the Department of Renewable Energy Sources presented the findings of their scientific research and received essential information for their future work. After the conference, representatives from foreign manufacturing companies, engineers, and scientists engaged in discussions. 

Cooperation with representatives of Worldwide Electricity Energy

On April 28, 2023, Professor Mirzaev Bakhodir Suyunovich, the rector of the National Research University "TIIIAME," held a meeting with the head and specialists of the South Korean company Worldwide Electricity Energy. The meeting focused on the prospects for utilizing solar energy on the university's campus, as well as the potential joint installation of solar panels. Additionally, new methods for the installation of solar energy systems on university grounds were proposed during the event.








Collaboration with government organisations on constitutional reforms

On March 26, 2023, in the city of Kattakorgan, Samarkand region, Professor Zukhra Karabaevna Ismailova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, member of the Society of Propagandists "Marifat," and advisor to the rector of the "TIIAME" National Research University on women's issues, engaged in a discussion with representatives of the Republican movement "Okila Ayollar" ("Smart Women"). This meeting included women activists from the region's mahallas, advocates of spiritual and educational initiatives, representatives from the "Buvijon" (“Grandmother”) school, women entrepreneurs, and officials from various sectors. The conversation focused on the topic "The Main Goal of Constitutional Reforms."

The draft Constitutional Law introduces 27 new articles to the existing Constitution. The constitutional reforms currently underway in the country are rooted in a commendable objective of enhancing human dignity. Uzbekistan is committed to prioritizing the interests of its people in the implementation of these constitutional reforms.

 Strengthening partnership with John Deere on sustainable agriculture

On April 28, 2023, the Rector of National Research University "TIIAME," Professor Mirzaev Bakhodir Suyunovich, met with Peter Sachse, Vice President of John Deere in the USA, and his deputy, Alexei Lyubetsky, as well as Sardor Sodikov, Director of the Landtech company, the representative office of John Deere in Uzbekistan. During the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the university and the company regarding the implementation of the joint project Deere & Company + NRU "TIIAME." This initiative aims to expand the possibilities for utilizing John Deere equipment in Uzbekistan and enhance the efficiency of its use.


The discussion focused on expanding opportunities for attracting international students to train engineering personnel in agricultural mechanization at our university, as well as fostering practical cooperation in developing personnel that meet international labor market standards. Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop and implement "Road Maps" for advancing initiatives in agricultural mechanization, water resources management, and economic development.

The international conference "IREG - Academic Rankings" was organized at the "TIIAME" National Research University in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. The event featured leaders from some of the most prestigious global ranking organizations, including representatives from Canada, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Romania, Poland, China, Singapore, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and Kazakhstan. Notable organizations represented included "Times Higher Education, "QS" and "Webometrics". The conference attracted approximately 100 participants, including rectors and specialists from universities across Uzbekistan.





It is important to highlight that hosting this event will assist leading higher education institutions in Uzbekistan in achieving high rankings in prestigious international assessments and establishing direct connections with the leaders and experts of international ranking organizations.

The conference addressed key aspects of reforms in the higher education sector in our country. It was noted that over the past five years, more than 80 new higher education institutions have been established in our republic, bringing the total number to over 200. This includes 32 branches of foreign universities in Uzbekistan and more than 60 private universities.

The event emphasized that in accordance with the development concept for the higher education system of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030, several initiatives are underway to position 10 potential higher education institutions of our country within QS and Times Higher Education rankings by 2026. This international conference will contribute to the continued enhancement of these efforts.


The conference addresses topics including the exchange of experiences and long-term strategies for ongoing bilateral cooperation between universities. This event is crucial for the advancement of our relations in higher education and for enhancing our standings in global rankings. The Information Group of International Ratings Experts (IREG) is an association of international and local organizations dedicated to the implementation of academic rankings and the evaluation of leading universities worldwide.
