Foreign experience in the development of Small and Micro Hydropower Plants Is being studied in the Republic of Korea

Practical studies are being conducted in the Republic of Korea with the aim of developing small and micro hydropower plants, introducing modern technologies, and studying international experience in the hydropower sector.
From September 13 to 16, 2026 as part of a business trip to the Republic of Korea, a delegation led by Islom Abdurakhmonov, Chairman of the Management Board of “Uzbekhydroenergo” JSC, is studying the activities of Kumsung Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., a company specializing in the hydropower sector, as well as modern hydropower unit manufacturing technologies and technical solutions for small and micro hydropower plants.
Professors and lecturers from the National Research University “TIIAME” are also participating in the delegation as part of the business trip:
Eduard Kan — Associate Professor of the Department of “Pumping Stations and Hydroelectric Power Plants”;
Alisher Davirov — Associate Professor of the Department of “Power Supply and Renewable Energy Sources.”
University representatives are studying advanced technologies in the hydropower sector from scientific, technical, and engineering perspectives, while exchanging experience on their adaptation to the conditions of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, particular attention is being paid to:
adapting modern technological solutions for small and micro hydropower plants to the conditions of Uzbekistan;
expanding local manufacturing capabilities;
introducing innovative technologies in the hydropower sector;
developing cooperation between higher education institutions and industrial organizations.
This visit is of significant importance for the development of small and micro hydropower plants in Uzbekistan, the adoption of advanced international experience, and the practical implementation of modern hydropower technologies.
