Measures to improve the energy efficiency of pumps in Khorezm Region

Professor B. Matyakubov of the “TIIAME” National Research University Scientific Adviser to the Governor of Khorezm Region on Agricultural and Water Management Issues, together with a team of scientists, conducted an on-site study of the implementation of repair works, performance assessment, and installation of new pumping units at pumping stations in Khorezm Region.
The study was carried out as part of the implementation of the scientific solutions outlined in the “Roadmap” developed pursuant to Resolution No. PD-122 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 2, 2026, concerning measures to be implemented in the water management sector of Khorezm Region. The works are being carried out using local budget funds.
The working group also conducted a scientific and technical assessment of the allocation and installation of pumping units across the districts of Khorezm Region.
Of the 270 pumping units planned for the region, 96 have been installed to date.
The installation of the remaining units is planned to be completed by the end of the year, following the conclusion of the vegetation period.
Scientific Adviser B. Matyakubov discussed ways to ensure the efficient operation of pumping units used in turbid water conditions in Khorezm Region and to develop scientific solutions to potential challenges in achieving greater energy efficiency. It was emphasized that the existing scientific potential in the region should be utilized to address these issues.
The working group continues to carry out scientific and technical monitoring of measures being implemented in the water management sector of Khorezm Region in 2026. Where necessary, scientific and technical solutions will be provided directly during the production and operational processes.
