Dual education at the Norin Hydropower Cascade: student internships enter a new stage

As part of the implementation of Resolution No. PD-122 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 2, 2026, systematic efforts are being carried out at "Hydrotechnical Construction" Faculty of the “TIIAME” National Research University to further develop practical education.
To this end, the university leadership visited the construction sites of hydropower plants being built at Sections 2 and 3 of the Norin Hydropower Cascade in Namangan Region. During the visit, they closely familiarized themselves with the long-term industrial internship process being undertaken by students of the Faculty of Hydraulic Engineering under the dual education system.
During their internships, students are:
— applying their theoretical knowledge in real-world production processes;
— actively participating in modern construction activities;
— studying advanced methods for constructing hydraulic engineering structures;
— becoming familiar with modern technologies and engineering solutions.
Of particular importance is the opportunity for students to exchange experience with specialists from Türkiye, China, and Iran through the “master-apprentice” system, allowing them to gain international experience directly within the production environment.
This dual education practice plays an important role in adapting students to real production conditions, strengthening their professional and practical skills, and preparing competitive engineering specialists equipped with modern knowledge and practical experience.
