The First Day of the International Summer School began successfully
16.07.2026
The first day of the International Summer School was officially launched at the "Hydraulics and Hydroinformatics" Department of the "TIIAME" National Research University “TIIAME”.
The Summer School is attended by a 13-member delegation from Shihezi University of the People's Republic of China, including Professor Gong Ping, PhD candidates, and young researchers. Their visit aims to strengthen scientific cooperation between the two universities, promote the exchange of knowledge and experience, and foster the development of joint research projects.
During the opening ceremony, Vice-Rector Shukhrat Shokirov delivered a welcoming speech and presented the university’s scientific potential, modern laboratories, research centers, international partnerships, achievements in education and science, and ongoing collaborative research projects with foreign higher education institutions. He also highlighted the university’s future plans to further expand scientific cooperation and joint research initiatives.
Following the opening remarks, Professor Aybek Arifjanov, Head of the Department of Hydraulics and Hydroinformatics and Doctor of Technical Sciences, delivered a presentation on the Uzbekistan–China joint research project. He discussed the project's objectives, key research activities, achieved results, and future prospects. In his speech, Professor Arifjanov emphasized that the International Summer School would serve as an important platform for strengthening scientific collaboration, promoting knowledge exchange, and enhancing the research capacity of young scientists within the framework of the joint project.
Throughout the first day of the Summer School, a series of scientific seminars, training sessions, and lectures were organized at the Department of Hydraulics and Hydroinformatics of the "TIIAME" National Research University.
Among them, Associate Professor Dinislam Ataqulov, PhD, conducted a seminar-training on the hydraulic design and calculation methodology of drip irrigation systems. The session covered the main stages of designing drip irrigation systems, pipe diameter selection, hydraulic calculation methods, pressure loss analysis, and the determination of pump parameters, providing participants with practical recommendations and engineering approaches.
In addition, Dr. Khumora Jalilova delivered a lecture on the hydraulic design of sprinkler irrigation systems under the conditions of Uzbekistan. Her presentation focused on the design principles of modern sprinkler irrigation systems, hydraulic calculation methods, practical applications, and contemporary scientific approaches in irrigation engineering.
The International Summer School serves as an important international scientific platform for strengthening research collaboration between Uzbek and Chinese scientists, advancing joint scientific projects, facilitating the exchange of expertise, and enhancing the research capacity of young scholars.
