Modern opportunities in Ancient Shahrisabz: LUPIC Global Service-Learning Summer School continues in Kashkadarya

The next phase of the “2026 Global Service-Learning: Learn to
Share, Share to Learn Summer School”, organized within the framework of
the LUPIC (Leading Universities Project for International Cooperation) international
project implemented jointly by Keimyung College University (South
Korea) and the “TIIAME” National Research University is
continuing successfully at the KOICA Vocational Skills Center in
Kashkadarya region.
On June 24,2026 project
participants arrived in the city of Shahrisabz and, beginning on June 25,2026 continued practical training sessions in the IT and Beauty
Course programs. These trainings were organized for women living in
local communities, individuals seeking vocational skills, citizens looking for
additional sources of income, and participants aiming to start their own
businesses.
Supporting Women’s
Employment and Entrepreneurship: during the Beauty Course sessions,
participants received practical training in promising areas of the modern
beauty industry, including professional makeup, facial skincare, hairstyling,
customer service culture, and international best practices in the service
sector.
Experts also provided
valuable guidance on building a personal brand, developing a client base,
entering the beauty services market, using marketing tools, and starting a
business. These activities are helping participants not only acquire new
professional skills but also establish a strong foundation for future
entrepreneurial ventures.
Digital Skills: A
Requirement of the Modern Labor Market: as part of the summer school IT
program, participants are strengthening their knowledge of modern
information technologies, digital literacy, innovative solutions, and the
effective use of technological opportunities.
Special emphasis is
being placed on developing the digital competencies of young people and women,
equipping them with highly demanded skills in today’s labor market, and helping
them apply these skills in practical settings.
Experiencing the harmony
of history and modernity in Shahrisabz: the summer school program also provided
participants with an opportunity to explore the rich historical and cultural
heritage of the ancient and unique city of Shahrisabz.
Members of the
delegation visited the famous Ak-Saray Palace Complex, closely
associated with the great military leader Amir Temur (Tamerlane),
and gained deeper insight into Uzbekistan’s rich history and culture.
The city’s beautiful
natural surroundings, historic monuments, and warm hospitality left a lasting
impression on the international guests. Participants emphasized that this
historic site serves not only as a cultural heritage landmark but also as a
source of inspiration for younger generations.
International cooperation
and knowledge exchange reach a new stage: representatives of Keimyung
College University, “TIIAME” National Research University and
the KOICA Vocational Skills Center are actively participating
in the summer school program.
The program is being
coordinated by Guzal Eshchanova, Coordinator of the DEISC
Center and Aziz Nigmatov, DEISC Assistant. University
representatives including Yaqubjon Cholliyev, Sultonali Rakhmatullayev,
Abdulaziz Orifjonov, and others are also actively involved in the
training sessions and organizational processes, making significant
contributions to the project’s success.
The LUPIC Project: the
important step toward new opportunities; the LUPIC Global
Service-Learning Summer School in Kashkadarya serves as a vivid
example of international cooperation, knowledge sharing, and practical
learning.
Its role in enhancing
the professional potential of young people and women, promoting employment,
supporting entrepreneurial initiatives, and guiding participants toward modern
professions is particularly noteworthy.
Organized under the
principle “Learn to Share, Share to Learn,” this summer school
continues to serve as an important platform for strengthening friendly
relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea,
facilitating international exchange of experience, and creating new
opportunities for participants.
