International Accreditation issues were discussed

On June 4, 2026 a meeting was held at the National Research University “TIIAME” with representatives of FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation), a prestigious international accreditation agency from Germany, and specialists from the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Nina Rotermund, Managing Director of FIBAA; Ms. Yuliia Bleshmud, Head of the International Accreditation Processes Department; R. Abdurakhmonova, Head of the Strategic Development and International Cooperation Group of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education; Chief Inspector O. Tanbayev; as well as university management and responsible staff members.
During the discussions, participants addressed the international accreditation of the university’s academic programs, the improvement of educational quality in line with international standards, the development of the internal quality assurance system, and prospects for cooperation with FIBAA. They also exchanged views on the stages of the international accreditation process, evaluation criteria, international recognition of academic programs, and ensuring their alignment with labor market requirements.
Special attention was given to improving curricula and course syllabi in accordance with modern requirements, assessing students’ and graduates’ competencies based on international standards, enhancing the scientific and pedagogical capacity of faculty members, and strengthening cooperation with stakeholders, particularly employers, in the educational process. Information was also provided on ongoing efforts to further develop a culture of quality at the university and to improve educational processes in accordance with international accreditation requirements.
FIBAA representatives delivered a presentation on the agency’s accreditation requirements, evaluation mechanisms, and international experience, and provided recommendations on aligning academic programs with internationally recognized quality standards. The parties also discussed opportunities for obtaining international accreditation for relevant university programs and explored future prospects for cooperation in this area.
International accreditation is one of the key factors in improving the quality of education, strengthening a university’s reputation in the international arena, and enhancing the competitiveness of its graduates in the global labor market.
