An Important step toward strengthening friendship and cooperation among turkic peoples

On June 3, 2026 a ceremonial cultural and educational event dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the Palace of Culture of the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” in cooperation with the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, representatives of the diplomatic corps, university faculty members, students, and members of the wider public.
The ceremony was officially opened by Meredov Shadurdy Oveznepesovich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan, and Bahodir Suyunovich Mirzayev, Rector of the university. In their speeches, they emphasized that the historic friendship, good-neighborly relations, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan continue to grow stronger year by year. They also noted that, thanks to the efforts of the leaders of both countries, cooperation in political, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, and humanitarian fields has reached a new level.
During the event, participants enjoyed artistic performances, musical presentations, and dance programs reflecting the rich cultural heritage, national values, and traditions of the brotherly nations. The concert program left a strong impression on the audience and further promoted the ideals of friendship, mutual respect, and solidarity among the peoples of the region.
The celebration also featured performances by renowned pop singers Karimboy Rahmonov and Faxriddin Hamdamov, whose songs added a festive and uplifting atmosphere to the occasion.
This event played an important role in further strengthening the friendly relations between the two brotherly nations, fostering patriotism and respect for national values among the younger generation, and expanding regional cooperation.
