On May 29, 2026 a scientific and practical seminar was held at the Joint Research Center for Geoinformatics of "TIIAME" National Research University within the framework of the international joint projects SOcFARm and GEOAI. The event focused on the effective application of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, remote sensing data, and GeoAI solutions in agriculture.
The seminar brought together representatives, researchers, and specialists from leading higher education and research institutions in Uzbekistan, Hungary, and Iran.
During the opening ceremony, Shukhrat Shokirov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at "TIIAME" National Research University, and Zoltán Kovács, Vice President for International Relations and Innovation at University of Nyíregyháza, emphasized the growing importance of international cooperation in science and education.
The seminar featured several scientific presentations on the application of digital technologies in agriculture. Topics included the assessment of triticale yield using vegetation indices, monitoring agricultural fields through Deep Learning technologies, yield forecasting based on satellite data and machine learning methods, and remote analysis using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Researchers presented the latest findings and practical outcomes of their studies in these areas.
Particular interest was generated by the presentation entitled “Developing Climate-Resilient Agriculture through the Integration of Remote Sensing, Meteorological Data, and GeoAI Methods.” The presentation highlighted the potential of geospatial data, artificial intelligence, and meteorological observations to improve agricultural productivity and sustainability.
At the conclusion of the seminar, participants exchanged views on strengthening international scientific cooperation, implementing joint research projects, expanding academic exchange programs, and enhancing collaboration within the framework of international grant initiatives.
As part of the visit, scholars from the University of Nyíregyháza also toured the Scientific and Educational Experimental Field Station of "TIIAME" National Research University. They became acquainted with ongoing agricultural research, experimental activities, and the practical implementation of modern agrotechnologies. University researchers presented their scientific developments and innovative solutions, while discussions were held on future joint research projects and opportunities for expanding academic cooperation.
The seminar represented an important step toward advancing science and innovation at the university, strengthening international partnerships, and promoting the wider adoption of digital technologies in agriculture.
