Scientific and Practical Research,conducted in Kashkadarya Region by Professors of “TIIAME” National Research University

In order to ensure the implementation of Clauses 4–5, Chapter II of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PD-122 dated April 2, 2026, professors and academic staff of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers National Research University conducted scientific and practical field research in the Kashkadarya region.
During the visit, existing hydraulic engineering and operational issues at the Qamashi and Qalqama reservoirs, the Mirishkor Main Canal, and the M-3 canal belonging to the Karshi Main Canal system were studied and analyzed on-site.
Throughout the research process, scientific and analytical conclusions were developed regarding:
filtration processes in reservoirs and canals,
accumulation of silt and sediment,
water losses,
efficiency of pumping equipment,
and the technical condition of irrigation systems.
The specialists also developed several practical recommendations and proposals, including:
continuing the second phase of the construction of the Qalqama Reservoir;
redesigning and concreting the Mirishkor Main Canal;
establishing an artificial settling basin (sedimentation pond) on the M-3 canal;
improving reservoir safety measures and modernizing operational management systems.
These studies contribute to the efficient use of water resources, modernization of irrigation infrastructure, and the promotion of ecological and economic sustainability in the region.
