07.05.2026
On May 7, 2026 a spiritual and educational event titled “The Memory of Ancestors Is Eternal” was organized in connection with May 9 – the Day of Remembrance and Honor, at Abdulla Oripov Garden, established at the “TIIAME” National Research University. The event was held with the participation of students from groups 144, 146 and 147 of the Faculty of Economics. It was organized at a high level through the collaboration of Associate Professor Guzal Eshchanova of the Faculty of Economics and Associate Professor Zulfiya Khafizova of the Faculty of Land Resource Management and Cadastre.
The event began ceremoniously with the National Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the event, heartfelt speeches were delivered by professors of the Faculty of Land Resource Management and Cadastre, who had worked effectively at the university for many years and made invaluable contributions to science and youth education, sharing their thoughts on May 9 – the Day of Remembrance and Honor. In addition, the memory of teachers who had served the development of the university and who are no longer among us was honored with deep respect and reverence.
Holding this event in Abdulla Oripov Garden carried a special symbolic meaning. In Abdulla Oripov’s works, love for the Motherland, human dignity, memory, and loyalty occupy a special place. Therefore, organizing the event in this location created a beautiful atmosphere where poetry, spirituality, and patriotism harmoniously merged.
As emphasized during the event, Abdulla Oripov Garden on the university campus should become not only a venue for such spiritual and educational events, but also a place for poetry evenings, artistic meetings, educational projects aimed at improving students’ literacy, and creative activities.
The program was rich in meaningful and emotional performances. Students recited poems about the Motherland, peace, and human dignity in Uzbek, English, and Turkmen languages. Patriotic songs such as “We will never give you away, Uzbekistan” were performed in Uzbek and Turkmen, creating a festive and uplifting mood for the audience.
In addition, Uzbek, Russian and Turkmen national dances added special charm to the event. The dances, reflecting the cultures of different nations, became symbols of friendship, solidarity, and tolerance.
One of the most touching parts of the event was a theatrical performance based on the film “You are not an orphan.” The performance vividly portrayed the compassionate and humanitarian family of Shomahmud Shoahmedov and his wife Bahri Akramova, who during the war years lovingly raised 14 orphaned children of different nationalities as their own. Despite the severe hardships of wartime, when even finding a piece of black bread was difficult and people had to stand in long queues, they still shared their love, care, and food with the orphaned children. This was movingly expressed through the stage performance.
The final group dance further strengthened the friendship and unity between students from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. The sincere performances of the young participants gathered on one stage became a vivid expression of kindness, solidarity, and peace among nations.
This event played an important role in honoring the memory of our ancestors, instilling the spirit of their courage and devotion in the hearts of young people, strengthening patriotic values, and promoting interethnic friendship.
