In order to ensure the implementation of the tasks defined in the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 2, 2026, No. PD-122, on further improving the system for training specialists in agriculture and water management, First Deputy Minister of Water Resources Z. Ishpulatov, Head of the Amu-Kashkadarya Basin Authority F. Siddikov, and Scientific Advisor to the Regional Governor on Agriculture and Water Management Issues, Associate Professor of the “TIIAME” National Research University, Doctor of Technical Sciences O. Kakhkhorov visited the Koson and Mirishkor districts of Kashkadarya region to study ongoing activities in the field of agriculture and water management.
Water scarcity remains a pressing issue in these districts of the region. To address this challenge, a series of comprehensive and systematic measures are being implemented.
In particular, recommendations were provided on the widespread introduction of water-saving technologies, concreting of existing irrigation networks, cleaning soil-lined canals from silt deposits, improving the efficiency of irrigation and melioration systems, and establishing mechanisms for delivering the required amount of water to the required place at the required time.
In addition, action plans (“schedule plans”) have been developed to organize the practical training of students from the Faculties of Hydromelioration, Geodesy and Geoinformatics, and Agricultural Mechanization of the “TIIAME” National Research University within the region under the dual education system.
