A strategic cooperation meeting was held at the “TIIAME” National Research University with the French SCP company. In line with the directives given during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Samarkand region on March 18, 2026, practical steps are being implemented.
At the “TIIAME” National Research University, a strategic cooperation meeting took place with France’s SCP company.
During the meeting, the following key issues and agreements were discussed:
SCP company’s project director, Julien Lecollinet, presented proposals to convert the irrigation network from the “Koratepa” reservoir into a closed pipeline water system. The implementation of this system would allow:
Increasing the efficiency of canals up to 90%;
Achieving high energy savings at pumping stations and constructing additional mini hydropower plants;
Fundamentally improving the stability of water supply, based on scientific justification.
The parties reached preliminary agreements on developing the project concept, preparing technical and economic evaluation documents, modernizing irrigation systems, financing the project within the FAZEP program, and arranging a 6-month internship in France at SCP facilities for two master’s students.
