At the initiative of the Department of Economics, a Master Class lecture was organized with “Al Muamalat Consulting” LLC in order to enhance students’ modern financial knowledge, develop their practical skills, and guide them toward promising career directions.
On March 5, 2026 a Master Class lecture was held with the participation of specialists from “Al Muamalat Consulting” LLC for students of the Economics program at 'TIIAME" National Research University.
The main objective of the Master Class was to provide information about Islamic finance, Islamic banking, and alternative financial instruments, particularly about the activities and areas of work of “Al Muamalat Consulting” LLC.
Speakers of the meeting:
1. Iskandar Tursunov – Founder of “Al Muamalat Consulting” LLC.
He obtained a Master’s degree in Islamic Finance from INCEIF University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He also studied Islamic Finance at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University in Turkey. He has many years of experience in the banking, insurance, and public sectors. He is a Certified Waqf Practitioner, Certified Islamic Microfinance Practitioner, and Certified Sharia Advisor and Auditor (AAOIFI CSAA).
2. Hayotjon Azimov – A practitioner with over 15 years of experience in financial engineering, risk management, and project management. He has experience in establishing Islamic banks and Islamic banking windows in Malaysia. He is a Certified Sharia Advisor and Auditor (AAOIFI CSAA), Certified Islamic Finance Professional (INCEIF), and holder of a Financial Markets Trading License (AICB).
During the meeting, the following topics were also discussed:
A new stage of Islamic finance development in Uzbekistan: legal and institutional reforms
The differences between the Islamic banking model and the conventional banking system, and its economic advantages
AAOIFI standards and international practices
Career opportunities in Islamic finance
Promising research topics for Master’s and PhD studies
At the end of the meeting, the experts answered the students’ questions and shared their opinions and insights.
In order to further strengthen cooperation in the future, the issue of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between "TIIAME" National Research University and “Al Muamalat Consulting” LLC was also discussed.
