In memory of Zulfiya

On February 27,2026, first-year students of the Faculty of Hydrotechnical Construction at the "TIIAME"National Research University visited the Alley of Writers under the guidance of the faculty dean’s advisor and tutor in order to honor the memory of the renowned Uzbek poet Zulfiya.
Speaking at the event, F. Yunusova provided students with detailed information about Zulfiya’s life and career. Zulfiya (1915–1996), a prominent Uzbek poet, was born on March 1, 1915, in Tashkent, into the family of Isroil the blacksmith. She studied at school from 1922 to 1931 and then continued her education at a women’s pedagogical college from 1931 to 1934.
The poet began her professional career at an early age and devoted almost her entire life to journalism and publishing. Between 1935 and 1938, she was a postgraduate student at the Institute of Language and Literature. From 1938 to 1948, she worked as an editor at the Children’s Publishing House and later served as a department head at the State Publishing House of Uzbekistan. Until 1953, she worked as a department head at the magazine Saodat, and from 1953 to 1980,nearly thirty years,she served as the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief.
During the visit, students also sang songs based on poems written by the poet, paying tribute to her creative legacy.
