The efficiency of rational use of water resources will be increased

A Presidential Resolution titled “On Additional Measures to Increase the Efficiency of Rational Use of Water Resources” (Resolution No. PD–47) has been adopted.
According to the resolution, during 2026–2028 the area, where water-saving technologies are implemented will be expanded to 3.5 million hectares.
In particular:
Drip irrigation will be introduced on 220,000 hectares, sprinkler irrigation on 110,000 hectares, and 600,000 hectares will be leveled using laser technology;
As a result of introducing water-saving technologies, it is planned to save 5 billion cubic meters of water resources annually.
To increase the efficiency of rational use of water resources, 800 billion soums will be allocated in the form of subsidies.
According to the resolution, in 2026, to further expand the introduction of water-saving technologies:
2.6 trillion soums in credit funds will be allocated by commercial banks;
800 billion soums in subsidies will be provided by the state as support;
A systematic training and capacity-building program for specialists will be established based on China’s Xinjiang experience in the implementation and use of water-saving technologies.
