Today, professors and instructors of the “Higher Mathematics” Department held a round-table discussion with students at the student dormitory on the topic “Alisher Navoi - A School of Inspiration for Today’s Students.”
During the discussion, students were introduced to Navoi’s creative works, his life, and legends associated with him among the people. At the same time, special attention was drawn to the poet’s:
thirst for knowledge and respect for learning,
justice, humanism, and generosity,
contribution to the richness of the mother tongue and the development of literature.
Throughout the discussion, students became familiar with the moral lessons found in Navoi’s ghazals and prose works and also shared their own thoughts. In particular, the life lessons conveyed through legends encouraged students to strive for knowledge, justice, and integrity.
In addition, the professors provided a brief explanation of how Navoi’s works can be connected with mathematics and logical thinking. The students showed strong interest by comparing the poet’s logical reasoning and ability to draw conclusions with their own academic learning processes.
At the conclusion of the roundtable discussion, a short dialogue was held with the students, during which their questions and suggestions were heard. This event made a significant contribution to enhancing students’ spiritual awareness and applying the poet’s life and works to the realities of modern student life.
