Senators held an Open Dialogue with students

On February 3, 2026 at the initiative of "Management and Tourism" Department of “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” National Research University, a meeting with members of the upper house of parliament was organized for students majoring in Tourism and Statistics. The event was held under the leadership of the department head B. Shafkarov, senior lecturer X. Xujamkulova, assistant Z. Salomova, and trainee lecturer M. Saidmurodova. During the meeting, open discussions were conducted on the activities of the Senate, the lawmaking process, and issues of interest to young people.
During the meeting, Senator Anvar Mirzaakhmedovich Tuychiyev, Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Issues, Water Management, and Ecology, provided students with detailed information about the main areas of the Senate’s activities, the powers of the upper house of parliament, legislative processes, and certain aspects of parliamentary oversight over the implementation of adopted laws.
It was also emphasized that adopting relevant laws, ensuring the implementation of state programs, and increasing the accountability of executive authorities are among the priority tasks of parliamentary activity.
At the same time, students became closely acquainted with the work of Senate committees and the Senate Secretariat, as well as with reforms being implemented in the fields of agriculture, water management, and ecology, and received comprehensive answers to their questions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, agreements were reached for senators to participate in public events held at TIQXMMI National Research University, and to organize an extensive lecture on the activities of the Youth Parliament, legislative initiatives, and public oversight.
