On February 3, 2026 a round-table discussion titled “Issues of Protecting Wetlands in Uzbekistan”, dedicated to World Wetlands Day, was held at “TIIAME” National Research University. The event was organized at the initiative of "Ecology and Law" Faculty.
The round-table was attended by Boriy Batirovich Alikhanov, Deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis; Saidrasul Saidakbarovich Sanginov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Central Council of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan; Oleg Romanovich Kashkarov, Coordinator of the Uzbekistan Society for the Protection of Birds; as well as university students. Participants delivered presentations and speeches, emphasizing that the protection and rational use of wetlands, environmental conservation, and their role in achieving sustainable development goals are of great importance.
During the roundtable discussion, issues related to the protection of wetlands, ensuring environmental sustainability, and other pressing challenges in this field were discussed.
