A Visit to the “Oqsaroy Residence,” or Islam Karimov Museum

On January 27, 2026 tutors of the Faculty of Ecology and Law of the “TIIAME” National Research University, together with the active Turkmen students assigned to them, visited the museum of the Islam Karimov Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex.
During the visit, students learned that the museum’s former name was the “Oqsaroy Residence,” where Islam Karimov once carried out his political activities. In addition to the museum itself, they visited the library and reading hall, the research center, and the conference hall located within the magnificent palace.
The students observed that the museum exhibits are arranged throughout the halls of the residence: the first hall contains photographs, documents, and even the personal belongings of the President, while the second hall houses collections of Islam Karimov’s works. The museum is also equipped with smart screens, through which visitors can learn interesting facts about the life of Islam Karimov. In the central part of the complex, a beautiful garden surrounded by pedestrian walkways and flowers has been created, and on an elevated area next to the palace stands a bronze statue of Islam Karimov.
The students who visited the museum greatly enjoyed the exhibition and left with wonderful memories.
