Prevention of drug abuse and combating crime

On January 23, 2026 an event titled “Prevention of drug abuse and combating crime” was held at the Faculty of Land Resources and Cadastre of "TIIAME" National Research University. The event was attended by an officer of the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs, J. Umarov; Deputy Dean for Youth Affairs, S. Khikmatullayev; Dean’s Adviser on Women’s Issues, Z. Khafizova; and students.
In his speech, J. Umarov emphasized that today drug addiction is one of the most dangerous threats to human life, especially to the future of young people. He noted that it has a negative impact on human health, leads to physical and psychological degradation, and extinguishes confidence in life and personal goals. He also pointed out that various crimes are often committed under the influence of drugs.
For this reason, special attention is being paid to combating drug abuse among young people by raising awareness, conducting preventive discussions, organizing spiritual and educational events, sports competitions, and training sessions to prevent the spread of this harmful phenomenon.
In conclusion, it can be said that drug addiction is a tragedy not only for an individual, but for society as a whole. Every person must realize their responsibility for their health, reputation, and future, and choose a healthy way of life.
