On November 27, 2025 a meeting was held in Qamashi district, dedicated to the introduction of modern agricultural technologies aimed at saving water, increasing productivity, and ensuring food security under saline soil conditions. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, 'TIIAME" National Research University, UzGIP LLC, officials of Qamashi district administration, specialists from the agriculture and water management sector of the Kashkadarya region, local farmers, JICA, WTO, professors from Kyoto, Kobe, Mie and Tottori universities of Japan, local scientists, and sectoral officials.

Professors from Kobe, Mie, and Kyoto universities of Japan, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, joined the meeting online and exchanged views. Professor Kristina Toderich from Mie University participated in person and provided detailed information on the results of scientific and practical experiments being carried out in the Qamashi district.

In particular, she presented scientific recommendations on the introduction of water-saving technologies and reducing soil salinity based on experiments conducted by scientists from the "TIIAME" National Research University at “Dildora Ernazarova” farm in the district. According to specialists, it is of urgent importance to widely implement water-saving technologies to reduce salinity levels, use water resources efficiently, and form a stable ecosystem.

During the meeting, proposals and recommendations were made on drip irrigation, the introduction of salt-tolerant crop varieties, improving soil composition, and the application of innovative agrotechnical solutions in practice. At the end of the event, the parties reached agreements to continue scientific cooperation, expand existing projects, and introduce new technologies to other areas of Qamashi district.
