In the development strategy of modern Uzbekistan, increasing the role and activity of women in society has been identified as one of the priority directions. Women’s participation is growing across all spheres of social life politics, the economy, education, science, entrepreneurship, culture, and the arts. The systemic reforms implemented by the state in recent years to ensure gender equality have strengthened women’s involvement, turning it into an important factor in the country’s stable socio-economic development.

In this regard, the "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University in cooperation with the international scientific journal “Science and Innovation” and the “Family and Gender” Research Institute under the Committee on Family and Women of the Republic of Uzbekistan, organized the VI International Scientific-Practical Conference titled “The Role and Importance of Women in Ensuring Social Stability: Creating an Environment of Zero Tolerance Toward Pressure and Violence Against Women” on November 21,  2025.

The conference was attended by:

  • Sharipov Kongratbay Avezimbetovich — Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor

  • Dilorom Khusnitdinovna Fayziyeva — Member of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Professor

  • Rano Turdiboyeva — Deputy Minister of Poverty Reduction and Employment

  • Jamila Shermuxamedova — Doctor of Philosophy, Professor

They expressed their congratulations and wished success to the conference participants.

The work of the conference is being moderated and coordinated by Dr. Zukhra Karabayevna Izmoilova, Professor of Pedagogical Sciences.

In Uzbekistan’s new political climate, women are actively participating in political processes. The growing number of women represented in both chambers of Parliament and in local councils contributes to the stability of democratic processes.

Since 2020, the introduction of national mechanisms to ensure gender equality — including the strengthening of the activities of the Committee on Family and Women  has been noteworthy.

The work of gender equality commissions and the growing presence of women senators, deputies, deputy ministers, deputy governors, university rectors, and heads of research centers demonstrate that gender equality is becoming a reality in the country. In recent years, women’s entrepreneurship has also become one of the key directions of state policy.

The increasing role and activity of women show that their potential is being used wisely. The opportunities created by the state, gender equality policies, women’s leadership initiatives, and mechanisms supporting entrepreneurship further strengthen the role of women in the country’s development, shaping them as equal and responsible members of society.

The conference continues its work within five sections.

Women’s economic activity contributes to sustainable development, their political participation supports democratic processes, their social activity promotes societal stability, and their cultural and spiritual involvement strengthens national identity.
