20.11.2025
In order to organize meaningful extracurricular activities at our university, effectively engage international students during their free time, and develop their practical speaking skills, a culinary-practical workshop titled “Fast Food Lovers” was held for Turkmen students on November 17,2025.
During the event, students of groups 146 and 147 of the “English Philology” program at "Economics" Faculty learned words and expressions in English related to preparing fast food. They completed various tasks such as naming the ingredients of fast foods like lavash, hamburgers, and hot dogs, describing cooking processes step by step in English, as well as reading and explaining recipes.
Throughout the interactive session, students prepared fast-food dishes based on the texts they had studied, and later shared and tasted the meals together. This gave them not only educational experience, but also an opportunity to develop cultural communication, teamwork, and creative thinking in a friendly environment.
The event served the purpose of teaching English in a broad, practical, and engaging format and was warmly welcomed by the students.
The workshop was organized at the faculty branch of the “Professional Development Center,” which was organised within the international project in cooperation with the British Council, on the initiative of Associate Professor G. Eshchanova of the “English Language” Department.
