The opening ceremony of the “China–Uzbekistan Joint Laboratory for Collaborative Innovation in Water Conservancy of Arid Areas” was held.

A significant event took place at our university — the opening ceremony of the “China–Uzbekistan Joint Laboratory for Collaborative Innovation in Water Conservancy of Arid Areas”, established in cooperation with the prestigious higher education institution of the People’s Republic of China — Xian University of Technology.
The issue of elevating our strategic partnership with Xi’an University of Technology to a new level is currently being discussed. This joint laboratory is a vivid symbol of friendship, mutual trust, and cooperation between the two nations in the field of science.
The main goal of the laboratory is to manage water resources in arid regions, modernize hydraulic engineering and irrigation systems, and promote sustainable water management through innovative approaches. Through this laboratory, the focus is not only on advancing scientific research, but also on supporting talented young people, implementing joint projects, and working together to find solutions to global water challenges.
Additionally, during the meeting, a memorandum of understanding on mutual cooperation with Xi’an University of Technology was signed. Currently, 7 doctoral students and 4 master’s students from this university are studying at our institution under an academic exchange program — a sign of the effective beginning of this collaboration.
