Scientific collaboration in research activities
20.05.2025
On May 15–16, 2025 within the framework of a memorandum signed between the “TIIAME” National Research University and the G. Mavlonov Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, joint experimental research was conducted at the Department of “Mechanics and Computer Modeling.” The experiments were led by the department head, academician of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor M. Mirsaidov, along with Associate Professors Sh.O. Khudaynazarov and J.A. Yarashov, Assistant I. Hazratkulov and researchers from the Seismology Institute A. Rakhmatov and A. Avazov.
The collaborative research focused on evaluating the dynamic behavior of a modeled earth dam using the seismic platform at the department’s scientific laboratory. During the experiments, “FORTIMUS” accelerometers from the “Mechanics and Computer Modeling” department and “TROMINO” and “ETNA” accelerometers from the Seismology Institute were used to study the dam’s vibrations under different frequency oscillations and impact loads.
Through analysis of the experimental results, the team assessed the deformation state of the dam model, including its displacement, velocity, and acceleration under external forces.
Researchers also exchanged insights on the key characteristics, usage procedures, and advantages of the “FORTIMUS,” “TROMINO,” and “ETNA” accelerometers.
As a continuation of this cooperation, the parties agreed to conduct similar joint experimental studies using modern software tools to assess stress-strain states at other dam sites such as Pskom, Charvak, Tupolang, Hisarak, and others. They also reached agreements to jointly participate in state grant programs and carry out contract-based research projects.
