Gender concept – a product of cooperation

Within the framework of the National Water Resources Management Project in Uzbekistan, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, a number of positive initiatives have been implemented in the sector in recent years.
In particular, a Gender Concept in the field of water management has been developed, approved, and adopted as part of the “Water Sector Development Concept of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025–2030.”
To inform the wider public about the goals and objectives of this Gender Concept, an expanded meeting of the Gender Council of the Ministry of Water Resources was held on May 16, 2025, within the framework of the project. The event involved the working group responsible for developing the Gender Concept, along with development partner organizations.
Also in attendance were representatives from interested institutions, development partners, and Zukhra Karabaevna Ismailova, Professor and Chair of the Women's Advisory Council at the'TIIAME" National Research University, who shared her comments and suggestions in an online format.
