Every year celebrating the Navruz holiday begins with the remembrance of Uzbekistan's Hero, People's Poet Abdulla Oripov at "TIIAME" National Research University. This tradition was upheld again this year with a cultural event held at the "Writers' Alley" on the occasion of the 84th anniversary of the poet’s birth. The event was attended by the poet’s family members, relatives, writers, and poets, as well as members of the Uzbekistan Writers' Union, the leadership, teachers, and students of the "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University. The event began with the laying of wreaths at the poet's majestic statue.
During the event, the first deputy chairman of the Uzbekistan Writers' Union, Minhojiddin Mirzo, the vice-rector of "TIIAME" National Research University, Rozimurod Choriev, the poet’s wife, Khanifa Mustafoyeva, and others delivered speeches reflecting on Abdulla Oripov’s extraordinary works and exemplary life.
Subsequently, the creative students of our university, particularly the winners of the Abdulla Oripov Scholarship, read excerpts from the poet’s works. The head of the "Inspirations Springs" club, Khursand Ro‘zmetov, and the advisor on women's issues at the "Economics" faculty, Ra'no Qodirova, read poems from the poet’s collection, which captured the audience's attention.
The poet’s praise for the homeland and his poems that call for the people to realize their thoughts and identity, not only inspired the people of his time but continue to encourage today’s youth to stay alert and thoughtful.
The attendees were provided with in-depth information about the poet's diverse works and his contributions to achieving independence. Regular meetings and events like this play a significant role in instilling the invaluable heritage of our ancestors into the hearts of young people. The event, organized in collaboration, was meaningful and engaging.
