On February 24, 2025 under the leadership of Rano Kodirova, the Chair of the Women's Issues Council at "Economics" Faculty along with faculty tutor Dilbar Egamova and the faculty student youth, participated in a ceremony held at the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Center, located at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Uzbekistan, to commemorate the memory of the true children of the Azerbaijani people who lost their lives in the Khojaly massacre.
On February 26, 1992 the world awoke to one of the most horrifying mornings in human history. The massacre, which entered history as a dark stain, occurred in the city of Khojaly, located in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. That night, Armenian forces indiscriminately carried out the massacre, killing men, women, the elderly, and children alike. Huseyn Guliyev, Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, spoke in detail about the Khojaly tragedy. He described how, 33 years ago, hundreds of elderly people, women, and children lost their lives during the massacre. In February 1994, at the initiative of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the National Assembly gave a political and legal assessment of the event, and February 26 was declared "Khojaly Genocide Day." During the ceremony, the students felt a strong sense of hatred toward genocides and were reminded that peace is the most priceless blessing. They were convinced that there is no greater or more precious gift than peace and tranquility.
