#News from the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The past, present, and future connected by a bridge

Throughout history, there have been influential centers of enlightenment and culture that shaped societies. Most of the rulers responsible for them were those who valued science, accumulating both religious and secular knowledge. They directed the talents of scholars towards educational goals, ensuring the prosperity of their people through scientific progress. Therefore, it is no coincidence that many of those who laid the foundations of global science were born right here, on our soil.

The efforts of our President in establishing the Center for Islamic Civilization, which embodies our national identity, science, education, and culture, are aimed precisely at this goal. On January 29, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, becoming familiar with its construction work.

The President discussed the many books, manuscripts, and unique pieces of information and artworks related to our rich and unparalleled heritage, many of which have been scattered across different countries. He emphasized the importance of not just preserving these as relics but actively incorporating them into scientific research, making them accessible to our people, especially the youth, and spreading them to the global community. This center should not only tell the story of the past but also bridge history, the present, and the future, serving as a hub of intellect that will define the main directions of our development.

The First and Second Renessances will undoubtedly serve as the foundation for the "New Uzbekistan – New Renaissance."

The President further emphasized that the primary goal is to understand and convey our national identity.

While reviewing the construction works and the exhibition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave instructions on improving the center's activities and its content, making it more engaging and accessible. He also directed authorities to increase convenience for entrepreneurs and craftsmen, ensuring that tours are meaningful and enjoyable.

Islamic civilization is one of the most significant and influential civilizations in human history. It has brought about great changes in fields such as science, culture, art, philosophy, and economics. Today, it continues to thrive globally, adapting to modern principles.

Islamic civilization is making significant strides in various global areas, such as:

  • Science and Education: Many Muslim countries, such as Qatar, the UAE, and Turkey, are focusing on scientific research and education. They have established modern universities and expanded international scientific collaboration.
  • Economics: Some Islamic countries have gained significant positions in the global economy by utilizing natural resources like oil and gas. Additionally, the Islamic banking system continues to expand on a global scale.
  • Technology and Innovation: Islamic civilization is also leading the way in technology and innovation.
  • Culture and Art: Islamic art, architecture, and culture remain an essential part of global heritage today. Its influence is evident in modern cinema, literature, and music.

Islamic civilization, with its rich history and cultural heritage, continues to contribute to the global development of science, technology, and economics. At the same time, its values continue to play a crucial role in addressing global challenges.

Thus, the Center for Islamic Civilization in our country will not only be a new manifestation of this noble educational goal but also a bridge connecting our past, present, and future.
