Since the development of education and science is closely linked to the development of the homeland, the attention to this issue has always been of a high level globally. In this regard, conferences organized in cooperation on this topic hold special significance.

In Uzbekistan, the traditional annual conference of the national team of experts on higher education reform within the Erasmus+ program is an important opportunity to share and promote the results of Erasmus+ projects, spread innovations in higher education, and exchange best practices.

Today, the Erasmus+ International Conference, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of cooperation in higher education between the European Union and Uzbekistan within the frameworks of the Tempus (1994-2014) and Erasmus+ (2014-2027) programs, was organized under the theme "Prospects for the Development of Higher Education in Uzbekistan." The conference, focused on higher education reform, was held at the "TIQXMMI" National Research University. Delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan participated as honorary guests and speakers at the event.

Organizers: Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan, National Erasmus+ Office (NEO), "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University ("TIIAME" NRU), Erasmus+ National Experts Group on Higher Education Reform (HERE).

The conference, held at our university’s Cultural Palace, was moderated by Ilhom Abdurahmonov, head of the International Rankings Department.

First, the floor was given to the rector of our university, Professor Bahodir Mirzayev. He greeted the conference participants and guests, and spoke in detail about the importance of the conference.

Next, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kongratbay Sharipov, was invited to the podium. He shared his thoughts on how international cooperation in education has always been a focus of attention by the state and government and its crucial significance for the country's development.

Following that, esteemed guests and experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan were given the floor.

The conference focused on improving the effectiveness of higher education through the exchange of experiences, effective methodologies, achievements, trends, and issues. Additionally, the event aimed to summarize the activities of the Erasmus+ experts (HERE) for 2024 and promote regional cooperation.

A session on "Priority Areas for Strengthening Regional Cooperation within Erasmus+" was organized in collaboration with Erasmus+ national offices and HERE representatives from Central Asian countries.

Within the framework of the conference, a traditional scientific-educational forum titled "Introduction to Scientific Information and Publishing Activities" was held with the assistance of HERE and representatives of several academic publishers. The conference was also held online through the ZOOM platform.

The conference stood out for its scale and significance, attended by representatives from the university administration, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, Erasmus+ National Offices from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, their HERE experts, Erasmus+ project coordinators, participants of the Tempus project, professors, researchers, and students.
