Motivation from Asqarali Karimov for Students

On November 21, 2024 the event was organized by the Faculty of Economics, featuring Asqarali Karimov, the main character of the Uzbek film "O'zbekistonlik", a former graduate of "TIIAME" National Research University and an active member of the American Water Resources Association, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society of Biological and Agricultural Engineers, and the U.S. Committee on Irrigation and Drainage. The meeting was attended by the university's professors, teachers, students, doctoral candidates, and master’s students. The seminars were scheduled to cover the following topics:
- The system of American universities, the advantages and opportunities of studying in the United States
- The role of federal and state agencies (ministries) in environmental protection, water resources, and agriculture
- Management of water resources (surface and groundwater) in Texas
- Water resources engineering
Currently residing in the USA and serving as the Director of Technical Water Resources at KPA Engineers, Dr. Asqarali Karimov shared his journey and the challenges he faced in the video featured in the film "O'zbekistonlik". The video can be found at: https://youtu.be/xfCFnOcXebw.
Asqarali Karimov has extensive knowledge and experience in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, evaluation, inspection, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities. He also has vast experience in environmental and natural resource management, planning, and the design and implementation of water efficiency and management technologies for agricultural water users and irrigation districts in countries such as Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Russia. Additionally, he has over six years of experience as a research staff member in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University, where he taught fluid mechanics and environmental engineering courses to undergraduate students.
In 2016, Asqarali Karimov received his Ph.D. in civil engineering, specializing in water resources and hydrology, from Texas A&M University. The online seminar was conducted in an open and upbeat atmosphere, with students and participants receiving answers to their questions. At the end of the seminar, certificates were presented to the participants, and attention was given to further developing bilateral cooperation issues.
