With the Minister

Yesterday in the building of the Ulugbek Foundation for Supporting Talented Youth, lectures by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Professor Kogratbai Sharipov were held regarding the processes and reforms in the field of education, which were organized in a sincere and open form. The lecture titled “Reforms being implemented in the system of Science and Education and their results” made a deep impression on the participants. It was attended by vice-rectors for Youth work, spiritual and educational work and other officials of capital city universities. The event was broadcast to all universities via ZOOM platform. The event was chaired by the chairman of the foundation, academician Akil Umurzakovich Salimov.
It is noteworthy that our minister
recently returned from Kashkadarya, Fergana and Karakalpakstan and at the same
time gave his advice, drawing comprehensive conclusions about the practical
expression of the essence of the presidential reforms in the field of
education. During the report there were discussed a number of reforms being
implemented in the field of organizing admission to the higher education
system, distribution of grant places, benefits provided for in social and
incentive legislation, the needs of regions, industries and enterprises for
highly educated personnel regarding allocation of targeted admission quotas
within the parameters of the state order to ensure the mandatory availability
of national or international certificates that determine the level of
proficiency of a foreign language for admission to Master's programs and
specialties of postgraduate education, starting from the 2024/2025 academic
year. It has been established that examinations for admission to Higher Educational
Istitutions (with the exception of vocational schools) will be held
simultaneously on the principle of “first testing, then selection”, issues of
personnel training in engineering specialties and further improvement of the
activities of higher educational institutions, work carried out in the
direction of ensuring the quality of education and organizing the educational
process, important priority tasks that will have to be solved in the future by
rectors of higher educational institutions, training personnel in the fields of
engineering determined by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan,
educating young people in the spirit of patriotism and informing about the work
and their results in areas of spiritual and educational, science and
innovation, international cooperation and digitization were brought to the
attention of the participants. Many interesting questions and suggestions were
asked by the participants on the topic of the lecture. The minister answered
all questions clearly, concisely, scientifically and theoretically. At the end
of the event there was an opportunity to take pictures with the teachers.
