Integrating students’ theoretical knowledge with production processes and training qualified specialists for the sector is one of the most important tasks of today. With this objective, a visit was made to Khiva District to closely examine the practical training processes being carried out at local facilities. These practical efforts contribute to the implementation of Resolution No. PD-122 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 2, 2026.

A meeting was held with a student undergoing practical training at the Khiva District State Water Supply Institution and the responsible supervisor assigned to the student. During the meeting, the essence and content of the six-month continuous industrial internship programme, approved by University Rector B. Mirzaev and Deputy Hokim of Khorezm Region U. Masharipov, were explained by Scientific Advisor B. Matyakubov.

In addition, irrigation and land reclamation activities carried out in the area were examined from a scientific and technical perspective.

In particular, the total irrigated area of the district is 24,413.5 hectares, and it was noted that the level of water supply during the 2026 irrigation season was at the required level.

In order to ensure the implementation of the “Roadmap,” it was observed that the concreting of irrigation networks in the district had been fully completed. At the same time, repair and rehabilitation works on irrigation networks had been completed by 75 percent, and the task of fully completing these works by the end of the year was set.

A study was also conducted at the “Oq yop” water distribution facility. The “Oq yop-Serchali” water distribution facility, located at Pickett 91 of the “Oq yop” Canal, was inspected, and scientific and technical recommendations were provided to sector specialists.

Main hydraulic parameters of the facility:

  • Water conveyance capacity of the “Oq yop” Canal: 5.5 m³/s
  • Water conveyance capacity of the “Serchali” branch: 1.5 m³/s

Such technical analyses and direct professional discussions at production facilities serve as an important foundation for strengthening students’ professional skills and practical knowledge.
