Our university entered the international ranking of the TOP 1000 best universities in the world

   The continuous research and movement are important factors for efficiency and success. The emphasis on science and education, which is the guarantor of development, is recognized throughout the world. The announced achievement is the result of scientific research and aspirations. On April 21, 2021, Times Higher Education (THE), an international ranking agency that evaluates the activities of universities in the field of higher education in the UK, announced the results of its latest THE Impact Ranking-2021. The main purpose of this ranking is to assess the impact of higher education institutions (HEIs) on the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) until 2030.

   In this ranking, “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” national research university (“TIIAME” NRU) ranks 801st in the overall ranking of world universities with a score of 45.3, with high scores in 13 of the 17 SDGs:

  • SDG 1 - End poverty in all its forms everywhere  (no poverty) - 401+ place among 591 universities;
  • SDG 2 - End hunger  (zero hunger) - 201-300 place among 442 universities;
  • SDG 4 - Quality education - 401-600 place among 966 universities;
  • SDG 5 - Gender equality - 601+ place among 776 universities;
  • SDG 6 - Clean water and sanitation - 301-400 place out of 520 universities;
  • SDG 7 - Clean and affordable energy - 401+ place among 560 universities;
  • SDG 8 - Decent jobs and economic growth - 601+ places out of 685 universities;
  • SDG 9 - Industry, innovation and infrastructure - 401-600 place among 680 universities;
  • SDG 10 - Reduced inequalities - 301-400 place among 669 universities;
  • SDG 12 - Responsible consumption and production - 401+ place among 503 universities;
  • SDG 13 - Climate action - 301-400 place among 566 universities;
  • SDG 15 - Life on land - 301-400 places among 402 universities;
  • SDG 17 - Partnerships for the goals - 401-600 place among 1154 universities

   It should be noted that the Sustainable Development Goals is a program developed by the UN in 2012, which includes economic, social and environmental indicators that help create a better life for all. These goals are on the agenda for 2015-2030 of all UN member states. Let us kindly remind that according to the rating published by THE in 2020, “TIIAME” NRU ranked only in two directions: clean water and sanitation (SDG 6: clean water and sanitation) and conservation of terrestrial ecosystems (SDG 15: life on land).

It is known that the international ranking agency THE has been working on the World University Rankings since 2004. Its main partners are Thomson Reuters, a leading international news agency, and Elsevier, a major scientific publisher. Success inspires to reach new heights.
