Joint Degree Program on 60713300 - Aerospace technologies and sustainable development

The Undergraduate Program will cover the interdisciplinary approach:

  • to promote the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as remote sensing of the earth and space communication satellites for developing methods of inventory, monitoring and modeling of environmental changes;
  • to implement projects on the space supporting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) recognized by the United Nations (General Assembly resolution A/RES/70/1: Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development https://www.unoosa.org/oosa/en/ourwork/space4sdgs/index.html)

Curriculum of the undergraduate program was developed based on the previous TEMPUS and ERASMUS MUNDUS PROGRAM projects which consider real needs, knowledge and expertise to address global challenges in the areas of water-energy-food-land systems under a changing climate, social and economic environment in Asia.

Program Offer

In this program, students will learn main aspects and skills in the field of environmental science, Geoinformation Systems (Practical modules based on:

ArcGIS/ArcGIS PRO, QGIS, SuperMAP), Remote Sensing (Practical modules based on Erdas Imagine), Spatial Data Infrastructure, Advance GIS, GIS tools, Advance Remote Sensing, Integration GIS & Remote Sensing, R, Python, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence which will later on be applied to develop best practice in order to address global challenges in the areas related to the SDGs.

The Undergraduate Program’s teaching methodology is incorporated into the general structure of the program and enables students to continue their education for Master study programs either in European, national or international institutions.

Furthermore, due to the wide-ranging field incorporated into the proposed program, it offers an easy approach to variety of specific research topics or job placement opportunities.

Program Activities

The four-year Undergraduate Program is divided into eight semesters. The overall number of 240 ECTS credits is assigned for Undergraduate Program and is divided into 60 ECTS per semester (120 ECTS per year). The number of credits per subject is in general 6 ECTS as in many European countries.  

First and second year students are provided with theoretical backgrounds on different disciplines with basic training to learn the use of software and instruments.

Third year students are involved in the advanced and integrated subjects for the analysis from specific case studies where they can elaborate the idea for the final BSc thesis in fourth year. 

The 7th and 8th semester is comprised with the research (Internship), oriented BSc thesis writing (research-based learning).
