Remembering our celebrities

   On April 7, 2023 by the initiative of tutors of  “Hydroreclamation” Faculty Z. Tursunova and G. Akhmedzhanova, second year students visited the House-Museum of Tamara Khanum. At the age of 30, Tamara Khanum became a soloist of the Uzbek Philharmonic and actively engaged in the reform of the Uzbek folk dance. Tamara Khanum performed at the fronts of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and donated funds for the construction of military equipment. For the great contribution to the country in 1943, she was awarded with the title of captain of the Soviet Army. Her creative path continued for many more years and lasted until the 1980s. The programs of Tamara Khanum's performances included more than 500 songs in 86 languages, choreographic compositions, dances of many peoples of the world. Tamara Khanum died in 1991 in Tashkent. Three years after her death, a house-museum was opened in Darkhan, the center of Tashkent.
