“To bridge the gap with the world’s leading universities, higher education institutions in Uzbekistan must strengthen their impact in the modern scientific agenda, actively participate in international research projects, and enhance their academic reputation.”
Sergey Khristolyubov, QS Regional Director, added:
“Few people remember that in 2019, no Uzbek university was present in any of the QS rankings—whether institutional, regional, or by subject. Over the last five to six years, Uzbek universities have done tremendous work to gain recognition in the international academic space, which is now reflected in all of our rankings. Expanding the publication of articles in top-tier journals, increasing faculty involvement in research projects, and implementing internationalization programs in education are among the key factors for sustaining and improving their positive momentum in global rankings.”
