In society, there are moments in the life of a country that embody an entire history, a living process. The 90 years of the "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University hold particular significance.
On the occasion of this anniversary, the event organized at our university took on great prestige. Imagine this: the visits and congratulations of ambassadors from developed countries, heads of prestigious international agencies, and high-ranking partners brought a unique spirit to both the ceremony and our team.
A total of nearly 70 guests from Belarus, China, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Tajikistan, and Turkey visited the event. The visit of distinguished individuals such as the ambassadors from Germany, Hungary, China, Russia, Austria, Tajikistan, India, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, France, the European Union's embassies in Uzbekistan, and the director of the British Council’s office in Uzbekistan further elevated the prestige of the ceremony.
In particular, the international conference on the topic “Problems and Prospects for the Development of Specialized Higher Education and Science in the Context of Globalization” demonstrated the global scale and importance of this event.
This could not have been otherwise. The "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University has a rich 90-year tradition, recognized as a first-class regional academic and research institution, famous for its leading programs in engineering (irrigation, water resources, environment, energy and automation, agriculture, etc.), natural sciences, land management, agricultural economics, and marketing.
It is noteworthy that in December 2021, by the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan, the Institute was transformed into the "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers" National Research University (PD-42).
The university has a rich history as a leading higher education and research institution in Central Asia and beyond, known for its scientific research, higher education, and expert consulting services in water, environment, energy, agriculture, land management, and other important fields.
The university's graduates are not only conducting research across our entire country but also in other regions such as Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe, holding various positions, and making significant contributions to the sustainable development of the country and region.
The grand event began with the screening of a video clip based on a poem dedicated to the university’s 90th anniversary and a documentary film. Then, renowned hosts Nodirbek and Dilnozahon opened the ceremony in an uplifting manner and first gave the floor to the rector of the university, Bahodir Mirzaev.
The rector expressed heartfelt gratitude to the guests who visited on this momentous occasion and highlighted the university's achievements and successes.
Afterwards, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, Kongratbay Sharipov, the Minister of Water Management, Shavkat Hamraev, and other prominent leaders were invited to speak. They presented the ministry's commemorative badges to the university's leading scientists.
The event focused on conveying the 90-year experience and scientific traditions of the "TIIAME" National Research University to the new generation and promoting the high achievements in education and research on a global scale.
Furthermore, the main goal of the international conference was to analyze the problems emerging in higher education and science systems in the context of globalization and to offer scientific approaches aimed at solving them. It also aimed at defining the promising directions for the development of higher education and science in the region, exchanging experiences, and discussing strategies for their implementation. Key issues such as the global environment, climate change, ecology, green infrastructure development, green economy, melioration and mechanization, artificial intelligence, energy efficiency, land resource management, soil fertility improvement, modern education technologies, and the quality of scientific research were the primary focus of the conference.
The following day, the conference worked in seven parallel (alternative) sessions, focusing on various directions related to the problems and prospects for the development of specialized higher education and science in the context of globalization, which was truly an honor. May our achievements continue to prosper!
