Uzbekistan and France have established strategic partnership

As a result of negotiations held in Paris, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron adopted a Joint Declaration on the establishment of a strategic partnership.
In the presence of the heads of state, the following agreements were exchanged: an intergovernmental Agreement on the mobility of specialists and students, an intergovernmental Agreement on mutual visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic passports, as well as a Cooperation Program in investment and innovation sectors, which foresees the implementation of promising cooperation projects with leading French companies in Uzbekistan, amounting to 6.5 billion euros.
During the state visit, the following agreements were also signed:
– Intergovernmental Agreement on the creation of the Uzbek-French University;
– Intergovernmental Agreement on readmission;
– Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2025-2026;
– Cooperation Program with the French Development Agency for 2026-2030;
– Declaration on cooperation within international organizations;
– Declaration on cooperation in the healthcare sector;
– Protocol on expanding the teaching of the French language;
– Declaration on cooperation in the fields of music, cinema, and theater;
– Agreements on cooperation between the Cultural and Art Development Fund and the Ministry of Culture, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage of France, and the French Institute of Central Asian Studies;
– Protocol on establishing partnership relations between the cities of Tashkent and Paris, as well as other bilateral documents.
