Information on employment and investment spheres presented

On February 3, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting dedicated to the implementation of measures on ensuring employment and attracting investments.
Earlier during meetings in December and January, key tasks in these areas were identified. The Head of State especially emphasized that 2025 should be a turning point in resolving issues of employment and reducing poverty.
In particular, this year it is planned to provide employment to 5.2 million people, lift 1.5 million citizens out of poverty, attract $42 billion of foreign investment and increase exports to more than $30 billion.
During the meeting, reports were heard on the work done and the interim results achieved.
Thus, in January, 277 thousand people were employed, of which 91 thousand received permanent jobs, and 153 thousand were involved in entrepreneurial activities.
New approaches to poverty reduction are being introduced in 32 areas. Recently, groups of specialists from ministries and khokimiyats visited China to study and exchange experiences. Now, local authorities are actively explaining the available opportunities to the population and providing assistance in finding sources of income.
Creating jobs and attracting investment are closely interrelated. This year, it is planned to implement 8 thousand projects worth $14 billion, which will create 272 thousand permanent jobs.
According to preliminary estimates, over the past month, $3 billion of foreign investment were attracted to the country. In February, the same amount of investment is expected to be attracted and 623 new projects are expected to be launched.
At the meeting, it was especially noted that it is necessary to significantly accelerate the pace of investment work, and to specifically address each project.
Since the beginning of the year, the volume of exports has amounted to $1.3 billion. Responsible persons have been instructed to cooperate with foreign partners, assist entrepreneurs in entering foreign markets, and involve new enterprises in export activities.
