Efficient Use of Electricity - A Necessity for the Times
20.11.2024

It is well known that the efficient use of electricity involves consuming energy with minimal waste and optimizing its consumption process. This not only helps in saving electricity but also contributes to environmental protection and economic benefits.
In line with this goal, it is crucial to inspect the functionality of both operational and faulty technical equipment. This is especially important for substations, as their continuous operation is essential to meet the population's needs.
In this regard, together with the dean of the "Energy" faculty, Abdusaid Isakov, we visited the "Olmos" 110/35/10 kV substation located in the "Yashnobod" district of Tashkent, under the management of the "Territorial Electric Networks" Tashkent city regional branch.
Accompanied by shift electrician Bakhtiyor Yakubov and labor safety and technical engineer Ilhom Artikov, we thoroughly inspected the facility.
Electric substations are critical for the reception, transmission, and distribution of electricity. The proper operation of substations is based on several essential factors to ensure their efficiency and safety. Some of these factors include:
- Transformers: Convert electricity to different voltage levels as needed.
- Vacuum circuit breakers and automatic switches: Ensure safety in transmission and reception circuits.
- Relay protection: Provides protection in case of network faults.
- Substation installation and technical specifications: Ensure correct construction and installation of electrical equipment, with adherence to operational rules.
- Environmental factors: Account for elements such as temperature, humidity, dust, and other environmental conditions affecting equipment.
- System and control: Automation systems for detecting faults and restoring service promptly.
- Safety and monitoring: Monitor all processes and restore the system during emergencies.
- Energy supply and needs: Ensuring continuous and stable energy supply to meet the substation's needs.
Thus, the proper functioning of an electrical substation is vital for ensuring uninterrupted, safe, and efficient electricity supply. This requires careful attention to both technical and organizational matters.
These measures will help optimize the use of energy resources and increase overall economic value. Therefore, the proper operation of all substations is of paramount importance.
